Why this Site?

Why did I start this site?

I started this site for a simple reason--to try giving back to the community and the country by providing research, news, downloads, and more on topics about which I am passionate. It is my intention--and my hope--that this site may be a useful resource for people in those areas.

--------------------------------------

** Being a Veteran of three decades of service, I have seen and experienced the challenges the service members have when transitioning from military service to civilian sector careers. The Mil/Vet tab has many resources to assist Military & Veterans.

** Being a part of both the career search and the career assistance side of the employment equation, I understand many of the challenges to those looking for their next career. Many resources are available in the Resource Pages tab. In the Phoenix metro area, you can also attend free events by Career Connectors loaded with on-site experts and resources!

** With a combination of personal experience and those of others, I work to bring news, research, and resources for Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to site visitors, in hopes that they may cast off any stigma about these conditions and receive the help they deserve to overcome PTSD and/or TBI/CTE/Concussions and live better lives. Look under the Mil/Vet tab for these PTSD and TBI areas. Current news is found by clicking on the "PTSD & TBI News" button.

** Having lost colleagues and others who I knew to suicide, I want to do my part in trying to stem the tide of suicide among our Military, our Veterans, and our Communities. As an advocate for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and Objective Zero, I strive to promote awareness, provide resources, and an ear to listen, shoulder to lean on, and help. Look under the Suicide Prev tab for these suicide prevention areas. Current news is found by clicking on the "Suicide Prevention News" button.

** Having witnessed the road of cognitive decline in others, I strive to include current news, research, and resources on various forms of Dementia, including Alzheimer's, Lewy Body, Parkinson's-related, and others. Look under the Resource Pages tab for all these Dementia areas. Current news is found by clicking on the "Dementia & Memory News" button.
