About every 3-4 months, I have the opportunity to travel to Navajo, Apache, and Hopi Reservations to teach classes. It has been the most enriching experience of my job to have the opportunity to get to know these good peoples and learn about their history and culture. One of the places that I have frequently passed along the way is this BBQ/Steakhouse perched atop a bluff alongside I-17 at Black Canyon City.
On this trip, our timing was right so that Jo and I could stop in and try them out for lunch on the way back to Mesa from Page, AZ. The restaurant? Chilleen's on 17, featured in 2013 on the show "Bar Rescue." Our meals were delicious, as well as reasonably-priced. It was well worth the stop!
