Originally published on July 5, 2017

Each year, the Tempe Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee (TCC MAC)

recognizes exceptional service members and students with awards and scholarships. One of those annual awards is the BUC Joel E. Baldwin Memorial Award, named for Chief Builder (BUC) Joel Egan Baldwin, USN, who was serving in Mosul, Iraq, when he was killed in a 2004 attack on the base. The award is given to a deserving SeaBee in honor of Chief Baldwin.

May 10, 2017. This year’s recipient of the BUC Joel E. Baldwin Award was Constructionman Second Class (CM2) Joseph Vincent Flores, USNR. CM2 Flores is an up-and-coming leader who demonstrated the technical expertise and leadership qualities embodied by this award. He was accompanied to the ceremony by his family and the Officer in Charge, Navy Operational Support Center, Phoenix, AZ.

We are privileged to have members that are dedicated to honoring our military members in a dignifies manner. We appreciate and thank all of our military personnel currently serving both at home and abroad.

We are a diverse group of management level people who have shown success in

Each month the MAC conducts luncheons during which the organization presents awards to outstanding officers and enlisted personnel as selected by their units.
